MÌ-MÌ PRIVACY POLICY

Mì-Mì is a platform for discovering, watching and engaging with films, stories, creators, communities, events and other cultural projects.

This Privacy Policy explains how MAZP Inc., doing business as Mì-Mì and Mì-Mì Labs (“Mì-Mì,” “we,” “us” or “our”), collects, uses and shares personal information when you use our websites, applications, film and project pages, viewing experiences, accounts, communities and other products and services (collectively, the “Services”).

This includes experiences relating to individual films and projects distributed, published or presented through Mì-Mì, including Papá Melissa.

We use information to make cultural discovery more useful and personal — not to turn our audience into a product. We may use information about what you choose to watch, save, follow and engage with to operate and improve Mì-Mì, understand how films and cultural projects find their audiences, and help you discover things we think you may care about.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not provide filmmakers or publishing partners with information identifying you for their own marketing unless you choose to connect with or hear from them. And we do not infer sensitive characteristics about you based on the stories or communities you engage with.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The information we collect depends on how you use Mì-Mì.

Information you provide to us

We may collect information you choose to provide, including:

• email address;
• name or display name;
• profile photograph;
• profile biography;
• country or territory;
• account credentials;
• communication and marketing preferences;
• films, projects, creators and communities you choose to follow;
• content you save;
• ratings, reviews and comments;
• communities, profiles or other content you create;
• messages and other communications sent through Mì-Mì;
• event registrations and attendance information;
• purchase, order and transaction information;
• information you provide when contacting us, requesting support, reporting content or exercising privacy rights; and
• other information you choose to provide.

Where information is optional, we may identify it as such. For example, your name may be optional when joining a film notification list.

Information about how you use Mì-Mì

When you use Mì-Mì, we may automatically collect information about your interaction with the Services, including:

• films, videos and other content you view;
• whether you start, continue or complete particular content;
• content you save, follow, rate or otherwise engage with;
• creators and communities you follow;
• pages and features you use;
• links you click;
• referring pages and campaigns;
• dates and times of access;
• browser and device information;
• IP address;
• cookie and similar identifiers;
• advertising identifiers; and
• approximate location, such as country or region derived from your IP address.

We do not collect precise GPS location unless a future feature specifically requires it and we provide appropriate notice and choice.

Territorial information

Some films and other content available through Mì-Mì may be subject to territorial restrictions.

We may use the country or territory you provide, together with approximate location derived from your IP address, to determine what films, screenings, events and other services are available where you are.

2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We may use personal information to:

• provide, maintain and operate Mì-Mì;
• create and manage accounts and profiles;
• provide access to films, videos and other content;
• determine territorial availability;
• tell you when a film, screening, event or experience you requested becomes available;
• communicate with you about a film or project where you have chosen to receive those communications;
• provide broader Mì-Mì and Mì-Mì Labs communications where you have chosen to receive them;
• remember your preferences;
• enable you to save and follow content, creators and communities;
• personalize recommendations and cultural discovery;
• understand how audiences discover and engage with films and other cultural projects;
• measure the performance of releases, campaigns, events and content;
• improve the design, functionality, programming and overall experience of Mì-Mì;
• process or facilitate transactions and purchases;
• facilitate event registrations;
• facilitate donations and fundraising;
• enable community, messaging and other social features;
• moderate content and investigate reports, abuse, fraud or misuse;
• provide customer support;
• maintain the safety, integrity and security of the Services;
• comply with legal obligations;
• establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
• carry out other purposes we explain when information is collected.

3. PERSONALIZATION AND SENSITIVE INFORMATION

Mì-Mì may use your activity across the platform to personalize your experience.

For example, if you watch, save or follow a particular film, filmmaker or community, we may use that activity to recommend other films, events, stories, creators or communities that we think may interest you.

We do not use the films you watch or communities you engage with to infer sensitive characteristics about you.

For example, watching or engaging with a film about LGBTQ+ identity does not mean that Mì-Mì will classify you as LGBTQ+. Similarly, engagement with content concerning race, ethnicity, religion, health, political issues or other sensitive subjects will not by itself be used to assign those characteristics or beliefs to you.

We may use your engagement with a particular title to recommend or advertise that title, related Mì-Mì content or Mì-Mì itself, subject to your privacy choices and applicable law.

4. FILMMAKERS, CREATORS AND PUBLISHING PARTNERS

Films and other cultural projects available through Mì-Mì may be produced, distributed, published or presented in collaboration with filmmakers, production companies, distributors, creators and other partners.

We may provide these partners with aggregated or anonymized information about audiences for their content, such as viewership, geographic distribution, engagement, completion rates or campaign performance.

We do not provide these partners with information identifying individual Mì-Mì users for their own independent marketing purposes unless you have specifically chosen to share your information with or hear from that partner.

Where a particular project involves a distribution or operating partner that requires access to identifiable information to provide, distribute, measure or promote that project, we may provide information reasonably necessary for those activities. We will limit that use to the applicable project unless you separately choose to receive broader marketing from that partner.

5. PAPÁ MELISSA

Papá Melissa is being distributed in the United States by Mì-Mì Labs and S1C.

If you sign up to receive information about Papá Melissa, MAZP Inc. may provide S1C with information reasonably necessary to operate, distribute, measure and promote the Papá Melissa release, including relevant contact and campaign information.

S1C's use of that information is limited to activities relating to Papá Melissa unless you separately choose to receive broader communications from S1C.

Signing up for Papá Melissa communications does not automatically subscribe you to general S1C marketing.

6. COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING

Mì-Mì allows you to choose the communications you want to receive.

You may choose to receive:

Title-specific communications. These may include availability information, screenings, events, editorial content and other news relating to a particular film or project.

Mì-Mì communications. These may include films, stories, recommendations, events, communities and other cultural projects from Mì-Mì and Mì-Mì Labs.

Partner communications. Where offered, you may separately choose to receive communications directly from a participating partner.

These choices are independent. Choosing to hear about one film does not automatically mean you have chosen to receive general marketing from another company.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or through available account or communication settings.

You may continue to receive transactional, account, security or other service communications necessary to provide services you have requested.

7. COOKIES, ANALYTICS AND ADVERTISING

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate Mì-Mì, understand how people use the Services, improve the platform, measure campaigns and, where permitted, provide and measure advertising.

These technologies may include:

• Google Analytics 4;
• Meta Pixel;
• Meta Conversions API;
• our email and customer relationship management provider; and
• other analytics, advertising and measurement technologies described through our privacy or cookie controls.

Where permitted, we may use information such as website activity, device identifiers and hashed contact information to measure advertising performance, create or match advertising audiences, reach people who have interacted with Mì-Mì or particular projects, and identify audiences that may have similar interests.

We do not use these activities to infer sensitive characteristics about you based on the films, stories or communities you engage with.

Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will obtain that consent before activating those technologies.

You can review or change your cookie preferences through Cookie Settings.

8. SALE AND SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Mì-Mì does not sell your personal information for money.

Certain uses of advertising, analytics or audience-matching technologies may nevertheless constitute “sharing,” “targeted advertising” or similar activity under applicable privacy laws, even where no money changes hands.

Where applicable, you may opt out of these activities through Your Privacy Choices.

Where required by law, we also recognize qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control.

9. SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may provide personal information to companies that help us operate Mì-Mì, including providers of:

• hosting and cloud infrastructure;
• video hosting and delivery;
• email and customer communications;
• analytics;
• advertising and campaign measurement;
• payment processing;
• identity and account management;
• customer support;
• security and fraud prevention;
• event management;
• donations and fundraising;
• legal, accounting and other professional services; and
• other technology necessary to provide the Services.

These providers may process information on our behalf or, where disclosed, under their own applicable privacy terms.

10. PURCHASES, RENTALS, SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS

Mì-Mì may allow users to purchase or rent content, subscribe to services, purchase tickets or products, or complete other transactions through the Services.

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, such as Stripe. Mì-Mì does not receive or store your full payment-card number or card security code. Payment information necessary to complete a transaction is provided directly to the applicable payment provider.

Mì-Mì may receive and retain information relating to your transaction, such as your name, email address, billing country, the product or service purchased, subscription or rental status, transaction amount, transaction identifier, payment status and limited payment-related information provided by the payment processor.

We use this information to provide and manage purchases, rentals and subscriptions, maintain transaction records, provide customer support, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations and otherwise operate the Services.

Some products or services may instead be offered through external partner websites or platforms. When you leave Mì-Mì and complete a transaction through another service, information you provide directly to that service is governed by that provider's applicable privacy practices.

11. DONATIONS AND FUNDRAISING

Mì-Mì may provide opportunities to support organizations, causes or projects.

Donations may be facilitated through integrated third-party providers or through links to external organizations.

Where a third party processes a donation, that provider's privacy policy and terms apply to information you provide directly to it.

12. ACCOUNTS, PROFILES AND COMMUNITIES

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Mì-Mì account.

Profiles are private by default unless you choose to make your profile or particular information publicly visible.

Depending on the features available, your profile may include your display name, photograph, biography, saved content, followed creators or communities, reviews, comments and other information you choose to provide.

If you choose to make information public, other users and potentially people outside Mì-Mì may be able to see it.

13. USER CONTENT AND MESSAGING

Mì-Mì may allow users to create profiles, communities, comments, reviews, messages and other user-generated content.

We may process, review and moderate this content where reasonably necessary to:

• provide the relevant feature;
• respond to reports;
• enforce our rules and terms;
• investigate abuse or harmful behavior;
• prevent fraud or misuse;
• protect users and the Services; and
• comply with legal obligations.

Private messages are not treated as public content. However, Mì-Mì may access or process messages where reasonably necessary to provide the messaging service, respond to reports, maintain safety and security, enforce our terms or comply with law.

14. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Mì-Mì may use technology, including artificial intelligence tools, to help operate, analyze, personalize and improve the Services.

Mì-Mì does not use your personal information, private messages or private user content to train generative AI models.

We may use audience, viewing and engagement information to understand and improve the Mì-Mì experience, including personalization, recommendations, search, platform performance and audience insights, subject to this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

15. CHILDREN

Mì-Mì is not directed to children under 13.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, join a mailing list, create a community or otherwise submit personal information through Mì-Mì.

Individual films, communities or experiences may have higher age restrictions or content ratings.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 in circumstances where parental consent was required, we will take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise address that information.

16. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide the Services, maintain accounts, fulfill transactions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse and enforce our agreements.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose and applicable legal requirements.

When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete, anonymize or otherwise securely dispose of it.

17. UNSUBSCRIBING, CLOSING YOUR ACCOUNT AND DELETING YOUR INFORMATION

These are separate choices.

Unsubscribe. You may stop receiving marketing communications without deleting your Mì-Mì account or other information associated with it.

Close your account. You may request to close your Mì-Mì account.

Delete your information. Where applicable, you may request deletion of personal information associated with you.

Deletion may be subject to limited exceptions where retention is reasonably necessary or legally permitted, including for transactions, security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, disputes, enforcement of agreements, and maintaining records of privacy requests and marketing opt-outs.

18. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to:

• know or access personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate personal information;
• request deletion;
• obtain a portable copy of certain information;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• withdraw consent;
• opt out of direct marketing;
• opt out of certain sale, sharing or targeted advertising activities; and
• appeal certain privacy decisions where applicable.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.

19. INTERNATIONAL USERS

Mì-Mì is based in the United States and may make the Services available internationally.

If you access Mì-Mì from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

Where required, we use appropriate legal mechanisms for international transfers of personal information.

For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and other jurisdictions requiring a lawful basis for processing, our processing may rely, depending on the activity, on your consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations or our legitimate interests, where permitted by applicable law.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before your withdrawal.

20. BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS

If MAZP Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets or similar transaction, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

21. SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, organizational and technical measures designed to protect personal information.

No system or method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

22. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as Mì-Mì and the Services evolve.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Where required by law or appropriate given the nature of a change, we may provide additional notice or request renewed consent.
